Isabel is 18 months off treatment!

She had her blood draw and check up in Oakland today. It was easy as pie and her blood test results came back perfect across the board! To celebrate we spent the afternoon at San Francisco's Exploratorium.

Here is Isabel with numbing cream on her arms waiting for the blood draw.



Gabriel drew a picture of the Exploratorium (and a bird exclaiming "oh no" as it flies too close to the sun) while in the exam room.



We had a very fun time!

Isabel and Gabriel are enjoying their school and both went on fun field trips this week.

Gabriel is learning all about bees in his first grade class and was able to get up and close and personal with the interesting insects, even holding the swarming honeycomb!



Isabel and her best friend enjoyed a sun shiny day at the Point Reyes Bird Observatory, learning all sorts of neat stuff with the people from STRAW (students and teachers restoring a watershed).

Isabel, Gabriel and I checked out the Art of the Doll exhibit at the Petaluma Art Center. We all liked it, though Gabriel found some of the dolls creepy and didn't want to get too close.

Soon the art center will be filled with alters in celebration of El Dia de Los Muertos. We'll be creating another window display for a downtown business again this year!

Alan was trying to get a photo of us next to the gorgeous, deep red roses I received for my 35th birthday. You can kind of see them peeking out above my head...



I had a very happy birthday!

This Labor Day weekend I danced with my husband, went on a zip line, sang obnoxiously loud campfire songs, made s'mores, got soaked in a canoe, went swimming, watched my kids play Capture the Flag, danced to Michael Jackson under the stars and laughed with other families whose lives hae been forever changed by childhood cancer. Just another amazingly fun weekend at Camp Okizu!
